"Teacher's View" is not a typical collage, as it does not have layers of paper. It is included in its collection for the layers of poses. The body is an expression. It tells a narrative with each movement. I look at the figure to search for the story or celebrate its simple expressions. I am intrigued by how we move- the way an arm can hang, the small bend of a knee, the sharp twist of the back. This painting was inspired by the body language of my students throughout the school day. As a teacher, it is my job to respond to this body language by either changing instruction, responding to behavior, or presenting something inspiring! Body language is at the core of my work as an educator, and an endless source of inspiration for my artwork.
"Teacher's View" is a Watercolor painting on Watercolor Paper. It is 20 x 24 inch, framed with a mat. It is also available in a variety of sizes in a Digital Print.
